As part of the province’s post-secondary education review, Alberta Advanced Education Minister David Hancock will participate in an open forum hosted by the Students’ Union Thu., Oct. 20.
“The reason I’m pretty excited about it is this is the first genuine public forum he’s held in the whole PSE review,” commented SU Vice-President External Jen Smith.
Hancock’s appearance comes in the wake of his highly publicized comments that the government would consider paying for tuition for the first two years of PSE.
The Alberta government began the review in June. Opponents have criticized the review steering committee for excluding students and faculty members from the discussion. The forum is open to all students and staff and takes place at noon in the MacEwan Hall North Court Yard.
