Toby White keeps BoG presence

By Ruth Davenport

In the two non-executive races, Toby White was elected as Board of Governors representative over Matt Dalidowicz, and Jane Alkhouri and Stephanie Andrews edged Jeff Bone and Andrew Pickles as Senate representatives.

White, who sat on BoG as SU President last year, was excited to continue representing students on the Board.

"It’s a part of my job I’ve particularly enjoyed this year," said White. "There are very few BoG meetings throughout the year, so there is a very steep learning curve for the position. I think having a student on the Board for more than one year will allow us to have our views represented more strongly. It will also help in developing relations with the new Board Chair and president."

Alkhouri was also pleased with her win.

"Considering I was out of town for the week of the election, I’m quite pleased," she said. "I think it’s great that Steph [Andrews] got elected. She had a good platform and will bring a different perspective to the Senate."
