Detours

By Kris Kotarski

Ahh, the Palace. This converted movie theatre has perhaps the coolest layout of any nightspot in Calgary. A favorite haunt of U of C economics professor Wil Holden, the Palace is good bet for a great time, but only if you bring some earplugs. It really is a shame that a place with so much potential would play some really repulsive music, mainly

B4-4. Don’t get me wrong, every place has their pros and cons as far as music is concerned, but B4-4 is a sure sign that western civilization is declining and that hordes of barbarians will soon overrun Canada. The cool balconies, the kickin’ dance floor and the usual assortment of beautiful people are all ruined by B4-4. Bottom line: a tonne of potential, but please change the music.
