Rose & Crown Pub

By Ruth Davenport

It should surprise no one that the Rose & Crown Public House, located just off 17th Avenue, is a haven for yuppies who wish to revisit the past without actually going there. It’s a down-home pub feel with an upscale menu that caters to deep pockets. With that said, you get what you pay for—the blue cheese burger and Guinness soup are just two items on an extensive menu that’s to die for. While a touch on the rich side, the choice of draught booze is enough to make any red-blooded university student slaver and gawk. This is a place that thirty-somethings go to when they feel a need to return to their scruffy student roots but don’t feel like ramen noodles with bananas.
