The VP Academic is not a visible nor glamorous position, but it is incredibly important. The VP is responsible for chairing the Students’ Academic Assembly which ultimately determines the SU’s academic policy and direction. On top of that, they deal with the Students’ Rights Advisor, who plays a central role when it comes to issues like appeal, as well as the academic powers that be in the university administration. This is a position requiring a great deal of energy, organization and knowledge, especially when one considers the issues coming up next year: direct entry, EULE and differential tuition will all figure significantly for the VPA.
