Disturbed, Believe

By Ivan Danielewicz

So, you’re having sex and you suddenly decide to change techniques. You look deep into your partner’s eyes, and see a blank stare of disinterest as they aren’t as enthused wit your new style Thats kind of what this album is like.

After a strong start with energetic songs like “Prayer” and “Liberate,” Disturbed singer David Draiman suddenly decides to change his voice into an almost opera style wail. This comes off as whiny and leaves the rest of the band yo sound hollow and out of place. Almost as quickly as it started though, the band regains its aggressive rap-metal sound and begins to produce great songs once again. While Believe does have its downsides, Disturbed’s second album is strong and pounding, it’s not to be taken lightly.
