Bleach, Again, For The First Time

By Sara Grawbarger

The mention of bleach frequently results in cringing due to its offensive reek. However, this band is not as stinky as their namesake.

Again, For The First Time, contains a good mixture of upbeat and slow, quiet songs, with many of the tracks containing references to religion and faith. Quite often people view any hint of evangelism as a turnoff, but Bleach manage to weave their spiritual views into songs in a way that is ambiguous enough to accommodate a wide range of beliefs. It’s nice to listen to music that is optimistic without causing that nasty gag reflex to flare up.

Besides the lyrics, the music itself is quite good. The layered vocals combine with drum beats and guitar to create a engaging rhythm that is full and energetic to the degree that it is difficult to stay still while listening to the record.
