Harry Manx and Kevin Breit, Jubilee

By Sara Grawbarger

One of the best elements of the blues is the spirit of getting together and jamming; just playing off each other, letting the contents of your soul spill out in the form of guitar rhythms and trilling harmonicas.

Harry Manx and Kevin Breit revel in this aspect of the blues throughout their album, Jubilee. Their union brings songs that can be mellow or vivacious, and always soulful.

These two artists energetically build innovative and evocative sounds. Accompanied by Manx’s smooth vocals, instruments used on this album include slide guitar, harmonica, banjo, mandolin, organ, mandocello, and a 20-string Indian guitar called a mohan veena. The vibe ranges from blues, to a fusion of blues and country, to Indian.

Jubilee is the perfect album to take you on a happy familiar journey in a new vehicle.
