Continuing to bring the pain

They did what they came to do. The top-ranked Dinos women’s volleyball team rolled into Saskatoon with a 1-1 record and returned home 3-1.

After a pair of victories Nov. 8 and 9, the volleysaurs remain atop the nation as they prepare to host the Simon Fraser University Clan this weekend. That doesn’t mean, however, that there isn’t room for improvement.

“We knew that every time they got a free ball inside, where they were going with it, but we didn’t seem to adjust,” explained middle Reid Brodie. “Our stats could have been jacked up if we had adjusted to it.”

Another area of concern for the powerhouse squad is their attitude–or lack thereof.

“We need to play with more attitude, we need to be more cocky,” said libero Neda Boroumand.

Head Coach Kevin Boyles thinks it’s that simple as well, and he’s looking forward to seeing his squad at home against SFU.

“We need to be tougher, we need to be meaner, we need to be more aggressive,” he explained.

“We’re the number one team in the country but you wouldn’t know that when we step on the floor.”
