The cmss is hosting a free lecture by Second Lieutenant Mike Szarmes Thu., Mar. 17. The talk, entitled “The Reserves: What can they do for you?” will take place at 4 p.m. in st 126.
Science vs. Artzilla
Students with an eye for aesthetic and a mind for inquiry have a chance to exercise both Thu., Mar. 24 at the Nickle Arts Museum.
The U of C art department will host London-based artist, Dr. Martha Fleming, for a presentation at 4:30 p.m. entitled “Looking Back Towards the Light: An Artist in the Observatory.” Fleming is known for examining the rift between scientific and artistic practices. Her award winning work has been exhibited throughout the world.
Snowboarders make some green
You stoked, dude? Snowboarders will be getting off their asses and carving it up at The Rogers Wireless Campus Classic III, happening Sat., Mar. 19 at Mt. Norquay.
With $4,000 in prizes and a $1,000 grand prize, some lucky rider may wind up sleeping in a larger mound of empty KD boxes or redecorating with some extra greenery. You may be able to find out when University of British columbia Prof. John Beatty from comes for two lectures, entitled “Karl Popper, Darwinism and Totalitarianism” and “Replaying Life’s Tape: Stephen Gould, Darwinism and Histor- ical Contingency.” The lectures take place Fri., Mar. 18 in SS 1339 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively.
Tuba or not tuba?

The Department of Music will be exploring this deep philosophical question at “Tuba Day at the Rosza: A Barrelful of Tubas,” featuring The U of C Tuba Ensemble.
