Divine Brown has an amazingly powerful voice. It is no wonder that she has made it onto the music scene with a bang while singing types of songs that are not considered main stream styles. It is not too bold to assume that with her style, which includes ballads and upbeat rhythms, she will be soon making her way into everyone’s favourite playlist.
Most of the tracks on this CD are very catchy with a steady rhythm and flowing lyrics. Even the more upbeat tracks like “Bebe” manage to maintain a balance of appealing music without over shadowing the vocals, where the focus should really be. The different vocalizations from the high-pitched “Bebe” to the faster track “Meet Me At the Roxy” to the slow “Sweet Surrender” were amazing and truly display Brown’s true vocal talents.
