Local students shine in world competition

Students from the University of Calgary placed sixth in an international competition to build energy efficient and environmentally friendly homes. The Solar Decathlon, which concluded Friday, featured teams from across the globe.

Team Alberta consisted of 40 students and faculty members from the University of Calgary, SAIT, Mount Royal University and the Alberta College of Art and Design. Team members spent over two years constructing a solar powered home. Read more about the competition in next week’s Gauntlet.
