Film Fest: Go for Zucker!

Coming to Calgary boasting great critical acclaim in its native Germany, Go for Zucker! promised to be one of the highlights of the festival and it didn’t disappoint. The movie tells the story of two brothers, one a gambling, drinking, permanently-in-debt burnout, the other a devout Jew and family man, who must reconcile their differences in order to receive their in- heritance after their mother’s death. Featuring a series of increasingly ridiculous events such as multiple faked heart attacks, billiards scams and cousin loving Go for Zucker! has an un- deniable charm and black sense of humour deserving of the praise it has already received, and the inevitable accolades to come.
