The Dinos women’s hockey team tied the first place team in the league. Think about that. The second last team, with a record of 4-9-2-1, faces the Grant MacEwan Griffins, with a record of 15-1-2, and they tie?

Whoa! Good on ’em.

Roughneckin’

‘All hail Kaleb Toth! Fri., Jan. 31 against the Colorado Mammoth he scored five goals. Even more awe-inspiring is the fact his fifth goal was the game winner, breaking a 13-13 tie with only 20 seconds left.

Toth couldn’t continue his hot streak the next night when the Roughnecks hosted Wayne Gretzky’s team, the Arizona Sting, at the Saddledome. Instead, he allowed Ted Dowling to take the spotlight, recording five goals of his own as the Roughnecks destroyed the Sting 15-6. Roughnecks net-minder Curtis Palidwor was also on fire, stopping a remarkable 40 of 46 shots.

Super Bowl

‘The Patriots won and so did I since I bet two pints of Guinness on them, but CBS truly took the cake–they got all the advertising money.
