By Jon Roe

The men’s basketball season is off to a disappointing start for the Dinos after dropping two games in B.C., one against the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds and one against the University of Victoria Vikes.

The weekend started out poorly with a weak offensive showing by the Dinos in a 66-54 loss to the Vikes Fri., Nov. 3. The Dinos hit only 17 of their 51 shots for a miserable 33 per cent field goal percentage compared to the Vikes’ 49 per cent. The game took place in front of a massive zero people, atleast according to the score sheet.

The Dinos were led by Josh Feist who recorded 23 points after playing 40 minutes, and Robbie Sihota, who recorded a double double off 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Saturday, the team moved on to Vancouver to take on the T-Birds, this time in front of real people, a whopping 837-again, according to the score sheet. The Dinos put forth a better offensive effort, sinking 44 per cent of their shots, but they were unable to match the T-Birds who dropped 100 points on them.

The final score was 100-75 for the ‘Birds.

The Dinos were again led by Feist, who played all 40 minutes and recorded 17 points. Two other players were in double digits for the b-ballasaurs, Cody Darrah, who picked up 16, and Jeremy Odland, who picked up 12 in only 21 minutes of action.

The Dinos will be looking for their first win of the season Nov. 10-11 in the Jack Simpson Gym as they take on the Simon Fraser University Clan and the Trinity Western University Spartans. Both games start at 8 p.m. Entrance is free with a student ID.
