The University of Calgary’s veterinary school will get the final word this week as to whether they will be accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, as well as the final go-ahead from the province. If all goes as planned, Dean Alastair Cribb said students would be admitted for Sep. 2008.
However, the concern still remains that once accredited, the approval lasts for only five to six years. Cribb said this should not be a concern as students will be guaranteed that they will graduate from an accredited program.
The vet school will be in two different locations–south of 16th Ave. and in Spy Hill, where construction is ongoing.
